Applications for final round of grants from COVID-19 Response Fund open through June 7

Nearly $22 million in grants has been awarded since the fund’s launch

 

Foundation For The Carolinas and United Way of Central Carolinas are accepting grant applications from eligible nonprofits through 5 p.m., June 7 for the final round of grants from the COVID-19 Response Fund. Since March 2020, nearly $22 million has been awarded through 364 grants to Mecklenburg nonprofit organizations helping those affected by the pandemic.

 

Grants will be made to organizations that provide safety net services such as housing/shelter, food and emergency financial assistance, including rent and utility assistance. Strong preference will be given to grassroots and/or neighborhood-based organizations with budgets less than $1 million.

 

Since the Charlotte-Mecklenburg COVID-19 Response Fund launched on March 16 2020, more than $23.5 million has been raised from corporations, foundations, individuals and local government.
