Growing up in Charlotte, Kellie Cartwright, United Way of Central Carolina’s Director of Community Impact, truly understands the economic mobility challenges in our city. As Director of Community Impact, Kellie’s leads the United Neighborhoods initiative as well as continuing the Unite Charlotte efforts.

Most recently, Kellie worked as a grant writer for Rowan County for over two years. Previously, she assumed the role as vice president of community impact at United Way of Greater High Point, while also working in the education field. She gained an understanding of students’ needs in both her education positions as a high school teacher and as a political science instructor at Piedmont Community College.

Outside of work, Kellie spends her free time with her family. She enjoys trying new restaurants in the Charlotte area and is passionate about helping people improve their lives.

Fun fact about Kellie: She saw Prince in concert when she was 35 weeks pregnant!
