For many people, New Year’s resolutions are an opportunity to resolve to make changes, accomplish goals and improve lives.

Need a little inspiration for some great 2020 resolutions to keep? Whether you’re looking to get more involved, learn new skills or build a deeper connection with your neighbors and community, United Way of Central Carolinas can help!

United Way works every day to give people in our community the tools and resources they need to be successful in their homes, businesses and neighborhoods.

Through the United Way Learning Network, we offer workshops and training events to help volunteers, grassroots nonprofits and community members learn essential skills to maximize their impact.

Opportunities have included a Nonprofit 101 session to help small organizations increase knowledge and capacity; a Board Training professional development course targeting future community leaders; and in-depth workshops covering topics like building a trauma-informed organization, advancing a racial equity organizational framework and developing two-generation interventions and partnerships.

Volunteerism is one of the ways United Way brings people together to solve local challenges and build a stronger community. When you volunteer with us, you’ll be sharing your time and talents with those who need it most.

Do you have skills and experience in specific fields like marketing and human resources? Join our skills-based volunteer program and assist one of our nonprofit partners with meaningful service projects.

Interested in volunteering with coworkers or as an entire company? We connect corporations across our region with opportunities that are individually meaningful and collectively impactful.

Or grab your friends and family and join us for one of our annual special events like United Way’s MLK Call to Service. These events unite large numbers of community volunteers across our five-county footprint.

When you donate to United Way, you are investing in your community. In your town. In your neighborhood. Your gift makes a real difference in the lives of people living right here—during the holidays as well as year-round.

Choose what your gift supports – United Way initiatives like United Neighborhoods and Unite Charlotteimpact grants that support our network of more than 100 partners across our five-county region; or other causes and programs.

Your investment helps children succeed in school, adults thrive at work and people of all ages live healthy, happy lives.
